A food soirée series:
‘Pass the Salt’

An intimate food series, where the table is always long and the ceramics are always ours.

'Pass the Salt' is a seasonal dining series hosted at Saint Verde, built around the kind of table you don't want to leave. Each gathering brings together a chef or cook with something worth saying, a winemaker, an artist, a maker, or the occasional inspired amateur, and seats them alongside a small group of guests who appreciate a proper occasion.

The menu changes every time. The ceramics on the table never stray far from the studio. Every plate, bowl, and vessel that holds the food has been made here on the farm, which means that by the time you sit down, you are already eating off something that has a story baked into it.

We keep the numbers low and the producers local. There is always wine. There is almost always something unexpected on the menu.

Where we eat depends entirely on the season, the mood, and what the farm feels like doing that day. Sometimes it's the long table inside. Sometimes we spill into the gallery, or find ourselves in the garden as the light drops over the valley. Saint Verde has a way of deciding these things for itself, and it has yet to make a bad call.

21 June 2026: Upcoming Soirée

Come and enjoy an afternoon, as we lean into the romance of the crisp autumn Midlands. Chef Andrew Giles will be cooking for us, starting with an appetiser in the conservatory lounge, and leading you later into the farm library for a four course dining experience, with Lost Boy Wines paired and a small gift from the farm included.

May 2026

Our first late-lunch afternoon was a match made in soirée heaven.

We sipped the afternoon away in antique glasses, with Abingdon wines elevating every fabulous course prepared by our friend and chef Cleo Vanessa, who shapes everything she makes around curiosity, somehow carefully balancing playfulness and sophistication through her food.
